Instructions to online reviewers

An online review should aim for a descriptive analysis of the book under consideration. The reviewer’s principal assignment is to describe the book’s subject and scope, bringing forward it most prominent features.

In most cases, single volume reviews only. The exception is for multi-volume editions under a single editorship.

Suggested length for online book reviews is 500 words.

Who can review?

Masters students writing a thesis, doctoral students, and practicing scholars whether affiliated or independent.

How to become an online reviewer:

Choose a book that you would like to review by consulting the list of books available for online review.

Contact the journal via e-mail (see below), indicating the title of the book you wish to review, your name and affiliation (independent scholars are welcome), and your mailing address.

If you are unable to review the book within 5 months, please return it to the journal.

Reviews are to be written in either French or English. Care must be taken to adhere to the journal’s guidelines. The review may be refused if the guidelines or the style are neglected.

Reviews will be archived permanently on this site.

Submit the review as an email attachment, in Word (.doc) or Rich Text (.rtf) format.
